White Floral

dress: SheIn c/o (also love this one)
sandals: BCBG (similar here & here on sale!)
clutch: Target
sunglasses: Choies c/o
necklace: old (similar here and here)

To say that I'm a little late to the party is an understatement. But what one to do when the pretty floral dress is hanging in the closet? Wear it! I couldn't fit into it when I had my belly and been waiting to loose some of that stomach to wear it. I still have about ten pounds to loose but there is nothing a good pair of spanx wouldn't fix. Also, it's almost fall and this is my last chance to sport some flowers. And to be honest, it's so pretty that I hope I get to wear it again in the spring (and maybe this one too)
Enjoy the rest of you week!

Happy hump day! Here is another edition of dress for less and this time I'm getting ready for fall. It's hard to think that we are almost through with summer. I'm actually looking forward to light layers and cooler temps. Also, cobalt blue is promising to be the color of the season.

You know when you buy something and it seems like it's a bit too expensive? You do like it (more like love it), the color and the fit are just perfect. You get home and still think about returning it, then you decide to wait and see if you will find something to wear it with? And of course, you do! Then you wear it again, and by that time it's time to cut the tag off, because honestly it has the smell of your perfume all over it. Now you have to throw it in the wash and after that you wear it couple more times.
Well, that's the story of this top. At first I was on the edge about getting it but loved how it fit my belly, as well as the mint color (can it be more perfect?). I have contemplated about returning it but it's just the perfect top for this summer. It's flowy and light, long enough to cover the belly and I'm sure it's going to work after I have the baby. So, guess what? It's staying! Have you found your perfect mint top this summer?

Casual Maternity Style

dress: J.Crew (cheaper version here)
jacket: Talbots old (similar)
flats: TJMaxx (similar)
bag: Tommy Hilfiger
sunglasses: Tory Burch
watch: Fossil (on sale!)

First time I styled this dress here

Managing to wear non maternity clothes that fit during pregnancy is a hard task, but it's possible! You don't have to sacrifice style for comfort either. To give you some ideas, here are my tips.

- Size Up. If you like a certain piece of clothing, buy a size (or two) larger than your pre-pregnancy size. It's easier to take it to the tailor later and have it taken in, then wear it for only a few weeks. That's exactly what I'm planning on doing with this eyelet dress.

- Jersey Dresses. Stretchy and comfy jersey fabric is easily the best things that has ever happened to my bump. I buy my normal size and have it stretch over the belly, so later I will have something to wear as well.

- Empire Waist and Boxy Fit. I knot that empire waist is not in style right now, but there are some non maternity dresses and tops that will fit the description. Also, a lot of tops right now have a very boxy and relaxed fit. I was able to find about 5-6 tops at TJMaxx the other day, that weren't maternity but fit me well (of course I couldn't buy all of them so I had to pick one).

Hope that helps your search for cute clothes for the bump. Thank you for stopping by!

Same Time Last Year

Outfit 1
Outfit 2

Outfit 3
Outfit 4
Outfit 5
Around the first week of June last year, I posted these outfits on my blog. I can still tell you what was going on when I took the pictures, where they were taken and who I was doing after the photoshoots. It's funny how many memories are connected to the clothes we wear. For example, my wedding dress holds a lot of memories and is very important to me as it was a gift from my future husband. He wanted me to have the dress of my dreams (not sparing any expense), therefore I will keep it for the rest of my life. On the other hand, this eShakti striped dress wasn't such a great fit and I had to pass it on to my cousin.
I'm also thinking about the things I wanted to accomplish in a year, and how far I have come. Although I'm not one of the top earning bloggers and very far from even thinking about making living out of this hobby, I like doing it. I love seeing how my style has evolved over years and how much my tastes have changed. Having a few more collaboration and sponsorship opportunities helps as well .
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to those who have been following me, supporting me and encouraging me along the way. I could not have done it without the help of my awesome husband, photographer sister and all those who visit/comment and share about my blog.
Thank you so much for reading and following this girl's humble dream!

What To Wear During Your Second Trimester

From top left to right
1 / 2  / 3 / 4
1 / 2 / 3 / 4

Now that I'm in third trimester, looking back at second trimester bump I have to say is my favorite. That's the time when you popped but haven't turned into a whale yet, can still tie your shoes and don't have heartburn after every meal. To look put together and stylish, I keep couple of tricks up my sleeve and want to share them with you

1. Shift Dress is your best friend. You know those shapeless dresses that only look good on hangers or models? Well, now they can become your best friend. Since they don't have a defined waist, they are perfect with a belt and some heels. Bonus: you can wear them after giving birth!

2. Maternity Jeans/Shorts are a life saver. No need to try to keep that button from popping out, or struggling to keep the belly band up every time you sit down. I love every single pair of maternity jeans  and shorts I owe and wouldn't trade them for the world.

3. Popover is new kind of classic. Do you like the look of a polished dressy shirt? Consider getting a popover in the same color/print. Since there are no buttons lover than the chest area, they won't be opening at the most inconvenient time. Plus, they will be perfect for breastfeeding when the baby arrives. It's a win win in my book!

4. Stretchy Fabrics are the best. When selecting a dress or a top, go for the scuba fabric as it will grow with your bump and accommodate your belly at every stage.

5. Accessorize while you can. Belts, handbags and shoes are the best way to play up the same dress/outfit. Add bracelets and necklaces while you still can and tiny little hands aren't trying to rip them off you.

32 Week Bumpdate

shorts: Pink Blush Maternity c/o (similar non maternity)
flats: J.Crew (similar)
bag: Amazon (similar, also love this one)
watch: Kate Spade
sunglasses: Tory Burch

I can't believe I'm already so far along but it's here! So for those interested in how things are going, here's a little update.

How Far Along: (almost) 32 weeks

Total Weight Gain: 14 lbs

Gender: it's a girl (for sure!)

Maternity Clothes: whoever invented jeans with stretchy waist band should be awarded a Nobel peace prize. Nobel because it's freaking genius and peace because it keeps the peace in our house as I actually have something to wear.

Sleep: It's getting uncomfortable! I don't like the body pillow for some reason - it's huge and I feel like it takes up more space than helps me. I constantly wake up and have to go tinkle. Yay for the beginning of sleepless nights!

Miss Anything: a glass of wine, fitting into normal clothes and not feeling like an elephant

Cravings: my first pregnancy I wasn't really craving anything but this time around it's two things - apple juice and smoked salmon. I could drink apple juice all day long if it didn't have so much sugar in it and eat salmon for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Symptoms: I'm carrying much lower this time, by how my clothes fit and not sure if that's a second baby or post C-section thing. Definitely feel more tired and back to napping every day. Also I have a ton of Braxton-Hicks contractions (at least 5-10 a day) and hope that's a good thing

Belly Button/Body Changes:  Belly button popped and that's something new. My butt hasn't gained any weight as I can fit into my normal size 6 for the bottoms - yay me!

Mood: I think I'm doing OK with mood swings but anything sweet or touchy gets me emotional. I almost teared up when hubby washed the floors without me asking. Yeah, hormones are going nuts!

Best Moment This Week:  My favorite is when Jonathan kisses the baby as we lounge in bed in the morning - he is so sweet about it!

Looking Forward to: enjoying the next few weeks as a mom of one and spending some quality time with Jonathan. I will definitely miss it when she arrives but I'm sure it will be a good kind of different.

Exercise: I picked up walking three times a week (about 2 miles). It's getting harder and harder to push the stroller up the hill but I'm determined to stick to it. No pain, no gain right? Especially because I do not want to be late again, although I'm praying God will give me patience either way.

On My Mind:  during my last pregnancy I gained the most weight last couple of weeks. At this point I'm super cautious about what I eat and try not to give myself any excuses to indulge. Also, I have a lot of weddings and events to go to so that keeps me motivated to look good. Oh and you know, putting pictures of yourself on the internet kind of helps the matter as well. ha!
I'm praying for an easy delivery that's on time and no C-section. I know Lord has it in His hands but I also know that I need courage. I've been back and forth with the VBAC thing and I'm kind of scared to go for it. Besides having that worry, I think this pregnancy has been going extremely smooth and I'm so thankful for it.
