Denim x Denim

shirt: LOFT (similar)
skirt: Gap
loafers: Target (similar)
satchel: BCBG TJMaxx c/o (similar)
watch: Fossil
glasses: Karen Walker via DITTO c/o

This outfit is inspired by the New York Fashion Week. Denim on denim has got to be one of the hottest trends this fall, plus going back to wearing jean skirt has me all nostalgic about my youth group days. Ahhhhh not a care in the world! Adding red satchel and leopard print is just what this outfit needed. Can you tell I love my new BCBG bag, which I score for a quarter of a price at TJMaxx? That place has my heart.

What I'm Wearing To NYFW

Morning Shows

dress / booties / bag / glasses / watch / bangles

Evening Shows

After Show Party

tee / skirt / necklace / pumps/ bangles / clutch
Hello and welcome to the Fashion Week (it is actually entire month of shows, travel and new trends). If I was going to the New York Fashion Week (maybe one day!) this is what I would wear. It's still really warm out but everyone will be sporting fall trends. I love the denim on denim look, and open toe booties for this season. Also, plaid is everywhere! (Have you seen Kate Spade look book?) Lastly, you can't go wrong with a sparkly maxi skirt which can be downplayed with a simple tee.
Although I'm not going to be physically present at the shows, I will be watching most of them online. If you had to pick just one (any one) designer, who would you go to see at NYFW? Mine is, Oscar de la Renta! The legendary designer created timeless and classy pieces that I always loved to draw inspiration from.

A Day Of Fun a.k.a. What Were We Thinking

Last week we ventured for a day out. Starting with a farmer's market in the morning and ending the day with bike rides at my mom's house. It was quite the day.
I know that from pictures it seems that everything is perfect, but it wasn't. Kids were hot and cranky - they didn't listen to a word I said. The baby needed to be changed. I was dying from heat (who wears all denim outfit when it's 80 out?) and frustrated. There were a lot of groceries that didn't fit anywhere. I was ready throw in the towel and my mom reminded me to laugh and smile. It was comical - us trying to take pictures, baby crying, kids throwing a fit and me yelling at them to smile. Ha! Life isn't perfect, so don't be fooled by the little snippets of time that seem like they are. Most of the time there is a lot of non-perfection going on behind the scenes!.
