This fall a lot of trends are staying and lots of new ones are coming onto the scene (hello flares!). Red if this season's hottest color - as a matter of fact, all shades of red are (from burgundy to orangy). Also, lace up flats are all the rage and I'm loving this inexpensive version from Topshop. How about the open toe booties that are all over the blogs right now? The nude version is just perfect for everything from skirts to boyfriend jeans. Valentine's Day Picks {Under $50)

Valentine's Day is next week and it conveniently falls on a weekend. You can go out to dinner, stay home and cook something together or just spend the night in bed (if ya know what I mean).  No matter what you are doing, get your color of love ready. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and it's winter wonderland over here today. Yep, we are totally white out and thank God we have no where to go. Here's an idea for your thanksgiving dinner. I like to do laid back (jeans. duh.) but a little glam (gold pumps) and pretty (polka button up).  Plus since we are spending it with family as usual, it's nice to just kick back and unwind.

Fall Must-Haves 2014

For me, Fall always started with school year, whether I'm studying or not. It's always been the time for apples, hot cider and layers. We can definitely feel chill of autumn air every morning in these parts, and to be honest, I love it. Unlike summer, we have been having some golden fall days, filled with cool, crisp mornings followed by warm, sunshine-filled afternoons. 

I love it.

Also, on my radar, cooler tones and some layers. I always like styling my summer pieces for fall, layering cardigans and jackets. It's so much fun! This season I'm pretty much on board with all the trends like black and white, sneaker-shoes, leather, leopard print and floppy hats. And I may actually give camo print a try. Maybe.

I hope you see something you like, and get  some shopping done because the season is upon us. 

BUDGET TIP: for the trends that you aren't sure of (like leather) try your local consignment, or thrift store. You can buy the item and not feel bad about it if you end up wearing it only once.

When Life Gives You Lemons

Honestly, I'm not the one to jump on the trend bandwagon as soon as it arrives. I usually take a while to warm up to certain ideas and maybe the last blogger on the planet earth that doesn't owe anything camo. Yep, still not very fond of that trend. But when I saw lemons on everything from paper napkins to handbags, it was love at first sight. It's such a fun and summery trend, which made me feel refreshed even without lemonade in my hand. So if life gives you lemons, make a trend out of it. I wonder who's life was going sour that they decided to put it on their designs. In any case, it's such a fun and quirky print that, even though I probably will not be getting a lemon bag, I will at least grab some table napkins.
