I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We definitely enjoyed ourselves with relaxing morning and lots of family time in the afternoon. I must say, holidays are starting to take on a whole new meaning now that I have kids. It is more about spending time together and less about stressing out (although I'm still learning to not stress out). There is nothing that makes me feel remotely sexy as an LBD, especially during this stage in the pregnancy. I'm at 39 weeks and hoping baby girl will show up any day now. There a lot of signs that the labor is near but no active labor yet. The heat isn't making things any better so I'm cooling off under A/C in the house. I had grands plans of going to the lake this weekend but it's about 150% humidity around these parts. Hopefully the baby girl will decide to come soon and we can all be happy about that.

Life is too short - wear heels! No, seriously, ladies enjoy the season while you can still walk barefoot. The time of the year when we sit at home and look out of the window in hopes of seeing a ray of sunshine is almost here. I'm dreading the next six months I'm going to have to spend in fleece pajamas and triple tights. 

But on a happy note, Christmas time is coming and it's the most fun when you have kids. Can't wait for Jonathan actually get to open presents this year. Yay for white Christmas but then I wish we could just skip straight to May and have beautiful spring all over. Alas, it's not going to happen. 


So head on over to your closest TJMaxx and grab some fleece lined leggings, put them on and marvel at the fact that you haven't been living them before. You are welcome!

As Good as It Gets

The other day hubby and I were discussing the business of weddings, after we received a wedding invitation from our friends. Their nuptials are going to take place on our exact wedding anniversary, even the same hour! It was wild to read their invite, because it reminded us of our own wedding. It's going to be six years (WOAH) next month since we walked down the isle. It feels like we got married few months ago not few years!
We reminisced about our wedding day, talking about all the things that we hold dear to our hearts. Coincidentally we were on the way to the same hotel we were staying at on our wedding night, for lunch. I said that I remember very little from 'the best day of our lives' and how unrealistic expectations get people in trouble. Of course, everyone dreams about a romantic and gorgeous affair which ends in a passionate night of hot lovin, but that's simply unrealistic. 
It was a very well organized day with a lot of places to be, people to see and things to do. Expecting it to be the best day ever seems to set people up for failure when something goes wrong. Having it as stress free as possible is as good as it gets (we had a minute by minute schedule we gave out to our whole family - it helped). And I'm fine with that. It was a very happy day, but the best part? The rest of our lives together.

Fancy Shmancy

We are well into the week but I just cleaned up and finished all the laundry from last weekend's festivities. Jonathan's birthday party was a lot of fun and he definitely enjoying himself (eating as much cake as his heart desired). I, on the other hand, was sad that after so much preparation and anticipation of the day, it passed so quick. Our little boy is all grown up and it makes my heart cringe every time I think about his newborn cuddles. I may write a sappy mommy post about how hard it is to see your children grow up. Like you haven't read enough of those right?
On a totally different note, spring is almost here and I'm sending the winter off with one of its best color combinations - burgundy and black. I cannot wait to get my pastels out and start wearing less layers, as well as enjoying the outdoors with Jonathan. And since there isn't another occasion for a fancy shmancy dress up after Valentine's Day for about two months, I'm asking for one (from my husband that is). I love being home with Jonathan but a lady has got to put her fancy on at least once a week. Date night it is.
