Casual Maternity Style

dress: J.Crew (cheaper version here)
jacket: Talbots old (similar)
flats: TJMaxx (similar)
bag: Tommy Hilfiger
sunglasses: Tory Burch
watch: Fossil (on sale!)

First time I styled this dress here

Managing to wear non maternity clothes that fit during pregnancy is a hard task, but it's possible! You don't have to sacrifice style for comfort either. To give you some ideas, here are my tips.

- Size Up. If you like a certain piece of clothing, buy a size (or two) larger than your pre-pregnancy size. It's easier to take it to the tailor later and have it taken in, then wear it for only a few weeks. That's exactly what I'm planning on doing with this eyelet dress.

- Jersey Dresses. Stretchy and comfy jersey fabric is easily the best things that has ever happened to my bump. I buy my normal size and have it stretch over the belly, so later I will have something to wear as well.

- Empire Waist and Boxy Fit. I knot that empire waist is not in style right now, but there are some non maternity dresses and tops that will fit the description. Also, a lot of tops right now have a very boxy and relaxed fit. I was able to find about 5-6 tops at TJMaxx the other day, that weren't maternity but fit me well (of course I couldn't buy all of them so I had to pick one).

Hope that helps your search for cute clothes for the bump. Thank you for stopping by!

Christmas Gift Guide {FOR HIM}

Power Tools/Hand Tools: 1, 2, 3
Men like working with their hands, and it doesn't matter if he's handy or not, a power tool will make him feel manly. Maybe he will even finish that project you were asking him about.

Shaving Accessories: 4, 5, 6
There is nothing worse than getting an awful shave and bleeding afterwards. My husband has a very sensitive skin so getting the shave right is very important part of his routine. Right kind of tools make that task a lot easier.

A watch: 7, 8, 9
Men don't wear accessories and the only one they do should stand out in the crowd. Surprise him with a great looking watch he would never buy for himself.

Electronics: 10, 11, 12
What guy doesn't like to play with these fun (grown-up) toys?

This time of year is especially difficult for us ladies, who are trying to get a gift for the men in their lives. I think, girls are easier to get gifts for - a handbag, spa certificates, perfume, shoes, sunglasses and jewelry are all acceptable choices. We like to feel special and although sometimes we are picky, there are tons of options.
Men on the other hand, have very limited selection of gifts. So here is a gift guide, brought to you by the 'down-to-earth' dude. I asked my husband to name a few things he would love to get for Christmas and this is what I got. And he also said absolutely no shirt and tie under the Christmas tree. Got it sir.
I hope you are having a great time this holiday season and enjoying time with family.

Sweater Weather

Sweater Dress | Jean Jacket | Happy Medley

dress: LOFT
jacket, watch: Target
bag: Tommy Hilfiger
loafers: TJMaxx
We are having a golden autumn this year and I'm loving it. It's the perfect combination of cool air and warm sunshine, and it's time to get those sweaters out. I hope ya'll are enjoying this time of the year because I'm definitely a fan of the apple cider and the look of pumpkins on my porch (I don't like the taste of them). Also it's the perfect time for some family photos - the foliage provides gorgeous backdrop for some good shots, as well as memories. Enjoy your selves friends because life is just too short not too.
Thank you for stopping by!

Blogtember Challenge Friday, September 20: React to this term: comfort.

As a fashionista, I often ignore comfort in the name of good looks. In life, I crave comfort and surround myself with things that put me at ease.

Honestly, I can't even count how many times I have worn shoes that were killing my feet only because they looked good; or froze half to death, again, for the same reason. I think that stage was part of growing up and now that I'm getting a little older (or maybe wiser) I'm more about comfort and happiness. Even my outfits becoming more practical and I'm all about sweaters and comfy flats.

Last week hubby and I were heading out for a date night, it was a little chilly out. I wanted to wear a cozy top with jeans but he was asking me to wear something sexy. I just told him that I would like to stay as comfortable as possible and, get this, didn't even want to wear heels. Part of it maybe we are getting too familiar with each other, or just plain lazy.

Comfort is something people look for and usually find it within the walls of their home. Although, it's easy to go from being comfortable to becoming a slob, especially with someone as close to you as your spouse.
It's a delicate balance.

Is it possible to be comfortable and look good at the same time?
So far it has proven itself a little difficult.
What do you think, ladies (and gents)?

Sometimes in the middle of the week, when you have been stuck at home for a few days and have to go to a doctor's office for an unpleasant visit, sequins are the only thing that will pick up the mood.
Lots of them.
I know, I might have overdone it with a tank and a clutch but that's the only thing that I felt would match here. A leopard clutch would go really well here but, alas, I don't have one.

Speaking of stuff that I don't have, I honestly don't have enough time for anything these days.
Lots to do and no time. You ask me where does it go? I don't know.
Between an infant, housework, family shenanigans and occasional walk around the neighborhood, days fly by in a twinkle of an eye.

I have so many projects and goals in my mind for this summer, and really should get on it. Like now because summer is half gone.
But then I think of another reason why I shouldn't start re-upholstering those chairs, organizing the garage or sorting through all of Jonathan's baby pictures.
I didn't know that I was a procrastinator. Now it's official.
So off I go being productive.
Mama would be proud.
