Farewell to Fall {Family}

Parent | Toddler | Family | Fall Pictures | Happy Medley

Last month, when it was exceptionally warm and the leaves were still just beginning to change color, we headed to the park for some family time. It was warm and sunny and a lot of fun for Jonathan. He gave me my first leaf (most moms receive flowers as a gift, I get leaves.) It was beautiful.

Most of the time, in the busyness of life, we rush through things. Even that day, husband was on a mission to get things done and we had limited time at the park. But what strikes me the most is that weeks later I don't even remember why we were rushing. I do, however remember, this beautiful sunny day and the time we spent together.

I'm preaching to myself here, people, because most of the time, I'm running around like a chicken with her head cut off, instead of enjoying the moment.
With the upcoming holiday season, take the time with your family to just slow the heck down. Don't get caught in the consumer driven mantra of the season and instead do meaningful, quality things with your family. They will appreciate it more than any kind of present in the world.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Simple Thanksgiving Tablescape {Home Decor}

Thanksgiving | Fall Tablescape | Rustic Simple Table | Happy Medley

I know that most of us don't have unlimited budgets when it comes to decor, so here is a look on a budget because who isn't trying to save a couple bucks.

Every time I go on Pinterest to find holiday table inspiration, I love the pretty silverware and the gold accents. But, I cannot spend hundreds of dollars on just table decor, how about food? How about storing all that junk once the holiday is over? I don't have a basement and my garage is stuffed with junk already so really, it's not an option.

This year, I wanted to create something pretty, simple and affordable, so I dug through my decor and bought some pumpkins at the farmers market. I wanted to create a Thanksgiving table look with everything that I already have. I mean, the pumpkins and gourds were 2/$1 and that's a great deal considering they are almost $5 each at the store.

I totally forgot about these napkin rings that I scored on clearance at Bed, Bath and Beyond for dirt cheap, so they came in handy. Flowers I had from my birthday and napkins were laying around for few years unused. The vases I bought at the local Salvation army, filled them with red and white beans, and green and yellow peas (I think you can do red lentils for a pop of color, only I was all out at the time) then placed a candle on top.

And ta-da!!!

Must Have Bags

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

Girls like their bags! I'm not sure which comes first - shoes or bags. Ideas? If I had my way, I would have one in each color, texture and size. I'm feeling under he weather these days so the only thing I'm capable of doing (besides still cooking dinner, laundry and million other chores) is online shopping. The BEST thing about these bags is that they are all under $100 and that's a score in my book!
Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Alone Is a Good Thing

Plaid Scarf | Oversized Sweater | Tall Brown Riding Boots | Happy Medley

sweater // scarf // boots // leggings // crossbody

For some reason, I don't hate Mondays. I mean, sure the weekend is over and chores begins but I love the quietness of the house when Jonathan is down for his nap. I love doing my own things without people around and although I love spending time with hubby, I crave my own time. For me, being alone is a good thing because I get to think, relax and just be. So this post is brought to you by the quiet time on the couch and third cup of tea.

P.S. Thank you to all my readers who faithfully stuck by me and continue reading my blog! Also, to all my friends who support me in this venture. I appreciate each and every one of you.

Fall Colors

Black Pencil Skirt | Modest | Mustard Blouse | Fall Colors | Happy Medley

<blouse>    <skirt>   <similar pumps>     <similar tote>   <necklace>
To me mustard, orange and black always mean fall. The warmth of is gone and we are in freezing temperatures now. You see, the blood in body doesn't think it's necessary to reach my feet, let alone toes. My feet are rarely warm and always have to have socks on. It's ridiculous because from the month of October to about May I can't feel my feet and after a while I got used to the feeling.
I hope you are staying warm and enjoying sunshine!
Have a great day and thank you for stopping by.
